CSA's History

CSA was established in 1976, in Atlanta, Georgia, with a mission to develop
and implement integrated facility databases to support the lifecycle activities
of complex facilities.
First major project was awarded by ERDA--Energy Research and Development Administration (later merged into DOE-Department of Energy).
The project objective was to design a system to manage construction activities of a nuclear power plant.
   Other project participants included:
         - Duke Engineering
         - Southern Company
         - Georgia Tech

- Daniel International (which later became Fluor Daniel).
The results of this effort strongly influenced further development of CSA's technology.

• Additional major projects included building of 3D models for South Texas Plant, River Bend Nuclear Station. During this period, CSA added 3D graphic / visualization capabilities to the 3D plant database.
• Next major projects included decommissioning support of Three Mile Island and projects in England for BNFL at the Sellafield site.
In 1986 CSA began a very important relationship with Toshiba. This effort included major funding support for further development of CSA's technology, as well as for building models and databases for plants in Japan.
In 1991 CSA established subsidiaries in Slovakia (CSA/EBO), to provide support for company-wide Plant Legacy Database development as well as to provide support for similar projects in Central Europe. This subsidiary participated in a number of projects such as: Ulchin 3&4, Taean 1&2, in Korea; Sizewell B, in UK; Longview Mill Washington State, and several other major projects.
In 1992 CSA established CSA/Systems in Slovakia to provide major support for the Plant/CMS technology development, as well as a number of custom development projects.
In 1995 CSA began a major development and implementation project in Korea, for KOPEC (subsidiary company of Korean Electric Power Company). During this time, CSA also started a major conversion of the system to PC environment.
In 1996 CSA acquired Camera Alive in Houston. This company provided photogrammetry services for the petrochemical industry. Through the offerings of this office, CSA expanded its services into As-Building applications using Photogrammetry and Laser Scanning.
